List of Criteria for Application for a Scholarship:
Students who have successfully completed their high school studies.
Students who, according to school records, belong to socioeconomic groups which require financial support for their studies and/or whose school fees were paid by welfare services and/or other similar instances.
Students who are driven and possess a high scholastic aptitude according to certificates or records that exist in their schools, and who are interested in pursuing higher education.
Students who, based, to an extent, on the opinion of the management candidate’s high school, would be capable of completing a higher education programme, if financial assistance were to be provided.
Students who, according to school records, have demonstrated good behaviour and were earnest in the completion of their school tasks.
Students whose application is supported by their teachers, year group coordinator, school counsellor or school principal.
Students who have applied or been accepted to an institution for higher education for the next academic year.
The candidate will be requested to provide a short letter, describing the field in which they have chosen to pursue higher education, the institution in which they are seeking to do so and details of the need for a scholarship.
Application and Scholarship Grant Process:
Filling in personal details using the online application form.
Attaching required documents and reference letters as required on the online form.
Attaching a cover letter from the applicant that details the field of study, the institution where he or she hopes to study, and the reasons that he or she should be awarded a scholarship.
A personal interview with the foundation's scholarship committee.
A decision by the committee on the success of the application and the grant of a scholarship.
Hello, My name is Yekaterina Fedchenko. I am 23 years old and live in Netanya. Today I am a second-year student at the Shenkar College in Ramat Aviv, studying in the Landscape architecture faculty. Landscape architecture is a field that deals with planning the landscape: parks, public squares, boulevards, and also other urban details and plants. I am used to hearing that I have chosen an interesting field of study, that not many people have heard or, and I am happy that I have found something that can open doors for me to new worlds. During the course of my studies, I had the opportunity to take a computerised course that deals with design and planning. I really enjoyed this, and I want to continue in this direction, and enter the high-tech world in the area of design. This scholarship will really help me to make my dream of working in design come true. Because my parents don't live in Israel, and I have to finance my studies on my own, it is difficult for me to find the time to work enough in order to pay both my tuition fees and my rent. Therefore, I am proud and grateful to "Ika's Light", for chosing to give me this scholarship, which will help me make my dream come true.
