Ika's Light

Ika's Light is a foundation whose aim is to help students in need finance higher education courses by offering scholarships.

Welcome to “Ika’s Light”.

“Ika’s Light” was founded in 2022 in loving memory of the teacher and educator Ika Yahav. Its aim is to support and assist students in Israel who are in financial need in pursuing higher education.

Scholarships will be awarded annually based on clearly defined, transparent and coherent criteria aimed to answer the real needs of the candidates, and which have been defined in the spirit of to Ika’s values, in a process that was designed by the foundation’s Board of Trustees.

For the academic year 2023-24, five scholarships were awarded to students of music at the Lin & Ted Arison, Tel Aviv  Conservatory.

In the coming years, the foundation intends on expanding its activities and reaching more students in need of assistance, helping them to obtain higher education.

Ika’s Light Annual Fundraiser Event

Dear Yossi and Miri, I was very excited to hear today that "Ika’s Light" has chosen to fund my scholarship. Without you I would not have been able to fund my studies, and I am deeply thankful to the foundation for choosing me. The music studies that you have helped me secure will drive me to the highest level that I am able to achieve, and to making my dream come true. I am very excited to begin my studies in two weeks’ time and to learn from some of the best musicians in Israel in lessons where I will make friends for life. In addition, I am of course preparing myself to broaden my horizons, and to playing music a lot. P.S.: Further to our conversation, I promise and know that we will see each other again on big stages. This scholarship will really help me to make my dream of working in design come true. Because my parents don't live in Israel, and I have to finance my studies on my own, it is difficult for me to find the time to work enough in order to pay both my tuition fees and my rent.
