On May 8, 2025, the foundation’s fourth annual fundraising evening took place at the Linn and Ted Arison Israel Conservatoire of Music in Tel Aviv.
During the evening, the foundation’s activities in the past year were presented, words in memory of Ika were spoken, and a musical performance was presented to the audience. The first part included students who were the foundation’s scholarship holders at the conservatoire in the past year, and who performed classical music and jazz.
The main part of the event included a performance by a chamber quintet, which included:
Amit Yahav – Piano, Guy Figer and Nitzan Temerlies – violins, Ma’ayan Shasha – viola, and Yoni Etzion – cello. The quintet performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto in F Minor op.21 in a special setting for piano and string quartet.
Thank you to all the artists who took part in the foundation’s annual fundraiser.
In the coming academic year, “Ika’s Light” foundation will, for the third year running, be giving scholarships to three students, who are gifted musicians from the conservatoire’s special programme for at-risk children and youth.
In addition, the foundation will be giving another scholarship to a student enrolled in the joint jazz programme between the conservatoire and the New York University New School – a four-year course for gifted jazz musicians.
Finally, a scholarship will be given to a second-year student at the Ono Academic College, who will continue studying occupational therapy.
“Ika’s Light” wishes all its scholarship holders a successful and prosperous academic year.
